Climate-Ready Groton Quick Poll: Waste Reduction

How we buy, use, and dispose of items has consequences for our environment and our economy. When we send materials to the landfill, they decompose and release GHG emissions in the form of methane. By reducing the amount of waste that we create and finding innovative ways to recycle and reuse materials (such as composting yard waste and food waste), we can decrease the cost of managing and transporting our waste while also decreasing pollution.

1.

How willing are you to reduce your consumption of non-essential items (purchases that are "wants" instead of "needs") or purchase items second-hand?

2.

How willing are you to compost yard waste or food waste at home?

3.

What is your biggest barrier to composting at home?
