Field Surveyors

During the next couple of weeks, you may see some people working along the Noank Main Street. These surveyors are collecting in-field data of the existing layout and topography to get a better understanding of the corridor conditions.

Geotechnical Exploration

During the next couple of weeks, you may see some people working along the Noank Main Street. These geotechnical technicians are collecting in-field data and samples of the existing soils and ledge depth to get a better understanding of the corridor conditions.  

March → April 2024

Conceptual Design and Public Meeting

Once the topographical survey and public input has been reviewed, Wright-Pierce and the Town of Groton will begin developing concept designs for a public meeting. During the public meeting, there will be a presentation of the concept designs and then time for comments and questions. Exact date and location of the public meeting to follow.   

May → July 2024

Preliminary Design and Public Meeting

After the conceptual design public meeting, Wright-Pierce and the Town of Groton will review the comments provided from the neighborhood and begin drafting the preliminary design for the Noank Main Street corridor. A public meeting will be scheduled to invite everyone to review the drawings and provide feedback. Exact date and time for the public meeting to follow.

September 14 → November 16 2024

Final Design and Public Meeting

After the preliminary design public meeting, Wright-Pierce and the Town of Groton will review the comments provided from the neighborhood and begin drafting the final design for the Noank Main Street corridor. A public meeting will be scheduled to invite everyone to review the drawings and provide feedback. Exact date and time for the public meeting to follow.

September → November 2025

Anticipated Construction

After the final design public meeting, Wright-Pierce and the Town of Groton will review the comments provided from the neighborhood. All permitting applications will be filed for approval. Once the permitting applications are approved, the construction documents will be made available for contractor bids. Anticipated construction start date will be provided once a qualified contractor is awarded the construction contract.
