I love Airbnb’s, Thats what’s driving the economy and small business’ here.

Hotels are a thing of the past, think Uber, you may not take one or like the idea, but that’s what people are doing. I’m working in lower Fairfield County right now and stay in Airbnbs for $65 a night. The Airbnb must be 5 stars and meticulously kept, sometimes daily, because if Airbnb gets one complaint about the host or the guest, they immediately respond. Airbnb pays The State of CT 15% tax from the guest. Do you know how much money short term rentals drive the local economy and small business’? A homeowner is a small home business and has the constitutional right to rent their property without infringing on the rights of others. Short term guests are sleeping in the homes just like a long term tenants do. The town should set up expectations such as the # of cars, occupants, lights out at 10, and if there are violations, call the police. Disallow corporate rentals or hosts that break the law and fine them. If a host has 3 infractions, don’t permit him. With 3 infractions and they’re shut down permanently. I can understand the people with complaints. But remove the hosts’ permit! This is a tourism driven town! People love it here because it’s quaint, but you cannot stall progress! Everyone who has stayed at an Airbnb, loves them. I do too!
