Owners of STR have to set boundaries and rules

We had a wonderful family trip to Mystic in early May 2022. We chose a property via VRBO and were so impressed with the accuracy of the description of the property on the web site and the rules and procedures that we would be required to follow while at the property. This was all known before our arrival and were part of the rental agreement. This is the proper way to run a STR.

There was a limit on the number of people who could be present at the home, policies were set regarding age of children and if pets were permitted. Requirements were all clear cut and reasonable to permit us to enjoy our stay and protect the peaceful co-existence of the neighbors surrounding the rental. No parties were permitted and any outside activities needed to end by 10 p.m. (probably a local ordinance).

My family would rent this home again in a heartbeat. Yes, we are responsible renters but when regulations are clear cut renters know what they are agreeing to before they rent a property. This requires owners to be responsible and our owners certainly were.
