Join staff from the Town of Groton’s Office of Planning and Development Services for Groton Community Conversations, a workshop series designed to inform, engage, and connect community members around topics related to Groton’s growth and development. Each session focuses on a specific theme and includes a brief presentation followed by interactive breakout discussions. The goal is to provide an opportunity for participants to learn more about important issues, share their perspectives, and contribute to ongoing conversations that support informed decision-making and a shared understanding of Groton’s future.

  • August 20th - Understanding Your Flood Risk - 5:15 pm -7:45 pm, Thrive 55+ Active Living Center (102 Newtown Road, Groton)
    Featured Speaker: Diane Ifkovic, State NFIP Coordinator, Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection
    • What is my risk: Flooding can happen anywhere. Learn how to check your home’s flood risk—even outside of flood zones.
    • The value of flood insurance: Most insurance policies don’t cover floods. See why flood insurance could be a smart, affordable choice.
